5 World’s Most Relaxing Women-Only Beaches You Must Visit

You are at the beach, wearing that dreamy swimsuit with no uncomfortable attention. It sounds so perfect! But do these kinds of beaches exist? Yes, there are beaches where only women are permitted, offering a safe and comfortable environment with no unwanted attention and judgment, where you can swim or relax peacefully and uphold modesty standards, releasing the societal pressures.

    La Femme Beach – Egypt

Located in the Marina 5 resort on the North Coast of Egypt, La Femme Beach, also known as Sahel, is the ideal beach to provide an environment where women can swim, sunbathe and remove their headscarves and choose modest wear or swimsuits, bikinis or just nothing without violating religious guidelines. It’s full of fun activities with music and laughter, including Zumba, belly dancing, yoga, etc.

    Sarisu Beach – Turkey

Sarisu Ladies Beach is located in Antalya’s Konyaaltı district, where women can spend leisure time with no worries. It is operated by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.  The beach also has various facilities, including meat restaurants, patisseries, hair salons, a spa, and a Turkish bath. There are also markets, boutiques, sports fields, and children’s playgrounds.

    SuperShe Island – Finland

Located in the Baltic Sea off the coasts of Finland, SuperShe Island is a luxury and wellness retreat for women that offers a rare space where they can truly unplug and connect to discover themselves. The place aims to create a space that feels truly secure and a ‘mental detox’ from societal pressures.

The island is exclusively for women that involve interviews to ensure they fit the community’s vibe to maintain a quiet and intimate atmosphere. It focused on health with a general approach. The overall experience feels like a pause from the outside world for it calm, isolated, intimate and luxurious ambience.

    Goa’s Women-Only Beach Zones

Among the crowds of Goa beaches, popular beaches including Arambol, Baga and Colva have introduced separate women-only swimming zones for female travellers under the initiative of Drishti Marine lifeguard agency.

The zone aims to provide a safe space where women can enjoy swimming, wearing anything without unwanted attention. The overall experience of female tourists has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly for solo female travellers.

    Al Mamzar Corniche – Dubai

Al Mamzar Corniche in Dubai is an upcoming fully enclosed beach for women to enjoy the seaside without the scrutiny of the public eye. According to officials, the beach will have an all-female staff, including security, making it a private and secure space.

The new project creates a permanent, year-round dedicated women’s beach. The vibe is peaceful, liberating and safe with night swimming, morning yoga, sunset walks and fitness sessions being a part of it. Rather than a beach, it feels more like a space where women can simply exist.

Opinion | Are Female-Only Beaches The Solution?

Female-only beaches are the perfect way for women to take a relaxing dip in the ocean or sunbathe in cute swimwear without having to worry about the pervy gaze. Especially in countries with strict religious norms and conservative values, these beaches become an escape into freedom.

However, they also raise questions on gender segregation, cultural restrictions, and why women still need separate spaces. Women-only spaces highlight the need for broader societal change so all public spaces feel equally respectful and secure.
