    DIY Hacks To Make Coffee Your Skin’s New BFF


    Coffee has always been a super booster for skin, as a natural skincare ingredient that helps in skin brightening. It reduces skin inflammation and removes dead cells, especially if used as a natural exfoliant. Coffee has been one of the most favourite ingredients in the skincare industry as an exfoliant to boost collagen for smoother, firmer skin.

    Coffee is a source of nutrients and antioxidants that can benefit the skin, scalp, and hair. It is not just a morning go-to cup for energy, but much more than that. It has natural exfoliation particles to change your skin completely if used the right way, and the best part is it’s always available in your kitchen and costs very little.

    Coffee contains caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, and polyphenols. These are powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals, the unstable molecules that speed up skin ageing and dull your complexion. When you apply coffee topically, these compounds get to work protecting your skin from environmental damage and premature ageing.

    Caffeine stimulates blood flow, tightens blood vessels, and reduces inflammation; that’s why you will find coffee as one of the ingredients in many high-end brands in scrubs, body wash, and moisturisers. You don’t need those fancy products; coffee alone is enough for your skincare. Here are a few coffee hacks:

    Coffee Face Scrub

    One of the most effective natural exfoliants out there. Coffee grounds don’t dissolve in water, which makes them perfect for scrubbing away dead skin cells without being too harsh. Mix two tablespoons of coffee with a little honey and tomato juice. Apply it to damp skin and massage in gentle circular motions for two to three minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with your moisturiser. (You can also add a few drops of coconut oil if your skin is dry.) It will help old cells to shed and will give space for baby cells to grow, which will help in anti-ageing.

    Coffee Facepack

    Mix two tablespoons of coffee grounds, add a little yoghurt if you have dry skin and rose water if your skin is oily. Mix it by adding a pinch of wild turmeric and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply it to the face and neck. Wash it after five minutes. Use this twice a week for glowing skin.

    Undereye Mask 

    To remove puffiness or get rid of tired eyes, mix coffee grounds with cucumber juice and a few drops of coconut oil. Leave it on for ten minutes, then rinse gently. Do this in the morning. Since caffeine can be absorbed through the skin and affect sleep, it’s better to avoid using it around the eyes at night.

    Coffee Bodywash

    Most popular natural remedies for cellulite, and there’s actual science behind it. Caffeine has a lipolytic effect, meaning it may help break down fat cells, and the scrubbing action improves circulation in areas where cellulite tends to collect. Take rice water, add coffee grounds, coconut oil, half a lemon, a few strings of saffron, Vitamin C drops, and massage it firmly. Consistent use does improve skin texture and firmness noticeably.

    Coffee also helps acne-prone skin if you mix it with honey and apply on face. What we eat or drink affects our skin as well. Coffee is rich in polyphenols and chlorogenic acids, which fight free radicals—unstable molecules that damage skin cells and may help preserve collagen and reduce premature ageing.
